Recently I came across one of the most amazing people I've ever met. His name was John B. He had served in the military for over 10 years, and during that time, he rose to among the top ranks. John's done projects that you would only see in movies (however, I cannot disclose such information as it is highly classified). However, when a bomb blew up in Iraq, not only did he suffer permanent brain damage, but also had to have an arm amputated. While he was told he would never walk again, after two years in the hospital, he miraculously prevailed. John is truly one of the nicest people I've come across, even tipping a barista $4 for a $3 cup of coffee when we met at Starbucks. He doesn't have a car, yet he aspires to become an educated student at a local community college by commuting via bus every day. [Some details changed/omitted for confidentiality reasons] |
